BOMA International Conference - Past President Alipio's Highlights
The BOMA Annual Conference is always one of the highlights of my year, and the 2026 gathering did not disappoint. From dynamic speakers and meaningful educational sessions to valuable networking opportunities with our service partners, the conference delivered inspiration at every turn. Set against the vibing style backdrop of Long Beach, this year’s event had an energy all its own.
This year’s keynote speaker, Mick Ebeling, challenged us to rethink what we consider “impossible.” Through powerful examples from his company, Not Impossible Labs, he showed how reframing a problem, shifting your mindset, and bringing the right resources together can create a culture capable of solving extraordinary challenges. His message was a welcome reminder that perseverance and creativity are essential tools in problem solving. I left feeling refreshed, inspired, and ready to bring that mindset back to my everyday operations.
The Women’s Breakfast was another standout event, featuring speaker Shasta Nelson and a timely conversation about the importance of relationships. As technology continues to take center stage in both our work and personal lives, her message was an important reminder that the quality of our relationships directly influences our happiness, resilience, and longevity. We explored how to build and sustain meaningful connections, while also prioritizing our personal health and well-being so we can continue showing up as strong, valuable team members in our professional lives.
The year 2026 was also especially meaningful for me as a participant in the BOMA International Daniel W. Chancey Leadership Academy. After months of virtual meetings, it was truly rewarding to meet my cohort in person. For our final project, we were assigned a group task and immediately jumped in with enthusiasm, collaboration, and plenty of laughter—before we had even properly introduced ourselves face-to-face. That experience says a lot about the spirit, dedication, and camaraderie of property management professionals.
I’m already looking forward to what 2027 has in store!
