About BOMA Oakland/East Bay


BOMA Oakland/East Bay has provided support and information to the commercial real estate industry in Alameda, Contra Costa, and Southern Solano counties since 1924. Membership includes building owners, managers, developers, real estate brokers, facility managers, architects, lawyers and various suppliers to the industry.  

BOMA Oakland/East Bay is federated with BOMA International, a federation of BOMA local associations in cities across the United States and a network of international affiliates around the world. Founded in 1907, BOMA represents owners and managers of all commercial property types, including nearly 10.5 billion square feet of U.S. office space that supports 1.7 million jobs and contributes $234.5 billion to the U.S. GDP. BOMA represents and protects the commercial real estate industry through a robust building codes and federal advocacy program and provides critical tools and information to industry practitioners through education, publications, floor measurement standards, research and benchmarking reports, building recognition opportunities, sharing best practices and trends, and more.

BOMA Oakland/East Bay is also a member of BOMA California. BOMA California is an association of eight local associations within the state. Included in membership are: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, Inland Empire (San Bernardino/Riverside), Orange County, San Diego, and Silicon Valley. BOMA California's primary mission is to represent the interests of commercial real estate in front of the California State Legislature and the various regulatory agencies.

BOMA Oakland/East Bay's membership is responsible for over 70 million square feet of office, medical office, corporate facility, industrial and retail space. Nearly 190 companies employing thousands of persons are also represented.
