Common Area Maintenance (CAM) expenses: (n.) fees paid by tenants to landlords to help cover costs associated with overhead and operating expenses for common areas.

This will be an introduction to CAM expenses and the reconciliation process. We will be covering foundational concepts, terms, corresponding lease language and go through several relevant case studies. Both Associate and Principal members can benefit from understanding how expenses affect the financials of a property and their Tenants. This introductory overview will help participants understand the difference between recoverable and non-recoverable operating expenses as well as to read lease language with regards to CAM.
Afterwards, we will walk to District in Old Oakland to enjoy a cocktail and networking. The first round is on BOMA: one drink ticket is included with your registration.

To ensure the safety of our members, BOMA OEB will be following the latest COVID requirements for Alameda County.  Masks will be required for all indoor aspects of the events.  We'll communicate all the requirements to registrants prior to the events.
