On November 8, 2016, California voters passed Proposition 64, the Adult Use of Marijuana Act, legalizing the personal use of cannabis for adults over 21, and creating a regulatory program for nonmedical cannabis. However, it is up to local cities and counties to determine how they will allow for licenses for commercial cannabis activity which has led to a lot of confusion. We will review what has changed in the last year for Cannabis regulations as well as what the future holds including what is on the horizon for federal regulations.
