April 27, 2017
The BOMA Oakland East Bay Emergency Preparedness Committee grouped together with a city representatives, local property managers, BOMA members, and friends to candidly discuss a hot topic in today’s climate: civil unrest. The panel included Communications Director for the City of Oakland, Karen Boyd; Operations Manager for Block by Block Ambassadors, Ted Tarver; and two property managers in the heart of downtown Oakland, Sara De La Riva and Elizabeth Despins. Each speaker shared lessons learned and best practices. Participants explored the following questions: For property owners and our community, how do we prepare and respond? How do we have effective communication with the City, first-responders, tenants, vendors, and our teams?
