Tips on Protecting Yourself in the midst of Wildfire Smoke:
  1. Pay attention to local air quality reports and the US Air Quality Index.
  2. Pay attention to visibility guidelines if they are available.
  3. If you are advised to stay indoors, stay indoors and keep indoor air as clean as possible.
  4. Use an air filter.
  5. Do not add to indoor pollution.
  6. Do not rely on dust masks for protection. These masks will not protect your lungs from smoke. An “N95” mask, properly worn, will offer some protection.
