2024 TOBY BOMA Oakland/East Bay Award Winners

BOMA International's Outstanding Building of the Year, otherwise known as TOBY, is the most prestigious and comprehensive program of its kind in the commercial real estate industry, recognizing quality in office buildings and rewarding excellence in office building management. Congratulations to BOMA OEB's 2024 winners – 1111 Broadway and California Plaza.
The TOBY competition begins here at the local BOMA level.  Our winning entries from each category will advance to the regional level, and, finally, regional winners advance to the international level. The International TOBY Awards will be presented at the BOMA International Conference & Expo, at the TOBY Awards Banquet in Philadelphia in July.
1111 Broadway - 500,000 - 1,000,000 sq feet
When the first tenants were welcomed to 1111 Broadway in 1990, the graceful, 25-story, 570k sf, building was immediately recognized as an exceptional addition to the Oakland skyline. Designed by Korth Sunseri Hagey Architects of San Francisco, the 25-story structure is centrally located in Oakland's CBD, providing direct access to an array of business services and tenant amenities and shopping, whether at Oakland's City Center, Jack London Square, Old Oakland, or Chinatown. As one of the tallest buildings in Oakland, the building is one of the premier buildings in the East Bay.
California Plaza - 250,000 - 500,000 sq feet
California Plaza is a premier 10-story Class A Office Building located steps away from the Walnut Creek BART station and two blocks away from Highway 24 on/off ramps. California Plaza is located within walking distance of numerous restaurants, health clubs, banks and hotels and is a short walk from some of Walnut Creek's most desirable amenities, including Broadway Plaza and the downtown shopping and business districts. The newly-activated on-site amenities and proactive ownership team at California Plaza give Tenants every opportunity to thrive.
