Oakland's employees are being called back to city hall. Starting February 18, all unrepresented department directors, deputy directors, managers and supervisors will be expected to come into the office four days a week, and starting April 7, all other city employees are expected to do the same, according to a letter the city administrator recently sent to labor leadership last week that was obtained by the Business Times. The letter, which was shared with the city's elected offices on Monday, also said the city intends to discontinue its telecommuting work program it established during the pandemic.
