2023 Strategic Advisory Council Kicks Off

On March 20, our Strategic Advisory Council met for its first meeting of the year. Youran Kim, PG&E presented the latest news and energy costs. Joanna Winter and Shawnee Keck, City of Oakland, presented on the City’s Downtown Oakland Specific Plan. They gave our advisory council an overview of the city's extensive program to plan the downtown corridor.

Emerging Professional Annual Conference and CMCP Scholarships - Due March 31st

BOMA Oakland/East Bay is pleased to announce a scholarship for the Certified Manager of Commercial Properties™ (CMCP™).  The scholarship will pay the $675 application fee, which includes the handbook and test.  You must be a BOMA Oakland/East Bay member to apply for this scholarship.

Additionally, BOME OEB is giving out a BOMA International Annual Conference scholarship is open to award a young or emerging professional working in commercial real estate to attend BOMA International’s Annual Conference and Expo (June 24-27 in Kansas City). The scholarship is for registration, airfare and hotel costs, up to $2,500.   


The Pacific Southwest Region also has a scholarship to the BOMA International Annual Conference.

Bay Lights Installations Bay Bridge Donations Needed

The Bay Lights installation on Bay Bridge, a world-famous lights installation is scheduled to go dark and is due for a retrofit with a fundraising campaign actively under way. Lights go out tonight/Sunday at 8PM and won't return unless enough money is raised to launch the new and better version; which will now be 360-degrees viewable, not just from the SF waterfront but also from Oakland, Alameda, Berkeley, etc.

Virtual Session: PG&E's Market Access Program

Join BOMA San Francisco's Energy and Environment Committee on a virtual information session on PG&E's Market Access Program on March 9 at 1:30 PM.   PG&E has recently extended their Market Access Program, which offers substantial financial incentives for commercial building energy retrofits that reduce peak demand and offer benefits to grid reliability.
