BOMA Oakland/East Bay and BOMA San Francisco Collaborating to Co-Host BOMA Bay Area TOBY Awards & BOMA Bay Area EARTH Awards

In a move designed to generate additional participation in two key industry awards programs, BOMA Oakland/East Bay and BOMA San Francisco are now collaborating to co-host The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Award, and the EARTH Awards.  BOMA Oakland/East Bay will open its TOBY program to BOMA San Francisco members, and conversely, BOMA San Francisco will expand the EARTH Awards to include commercial properties in Oakland/East Bay.  BOMA Oakland/East Bay will take primary responsibility for managing the TOBY program, and BOMA San Francisco will manage the EARTH Awards program.

The Office Building of the Year Award (TOBY) is the most prestigious and comprehensive program of its kind in the commercial real estate industry-recognizing quality in office buildings and rewarding excellence in office building management. Participants are judged in various categories:

• Emergency Preparedness and Security Standards
• Training for Building Personnel

Timeline for Local Competition:

July 2011 - Announce competition, inform membership of requirements
September 29 - Entry fees, Application, and Binders due in BOMA Office
October 2011- Awards Committee reviews binders/building walk-throughs
November 10 - Local Winners announced at Luncheon-Scott’s Seafood-Oakland
January 26, 2012 - Regional submissions due
Spring 2012 -  Regional Competition

(TOBY Portfolios are now done via online at www.boma.org/toby. For Local competition, please place all materials in a binder with dividers, and ONLY hit print for the online registration.
