Environmental Health and Safety Issues Protecting the environment and promoting worker health and safety are issues at the center stage of today’s property industry. This course provides you with an overview of the environmental health and safety considerations in building operations. You’ll learn to develop and manage proactive environmental/occupational health and safety issues, and assess when to obtain technical assistance.
Major topics covered in this course: • local, state, and federal regulations • environmental site assessments • hazard communication • emergency response • asbestos and lead management • ergonomics • indoor air quality • hazardous waste • storage tanks • audits, record keeping, and other regulatory issues • ADA, EPA, OSHA, CERCLA, and the FULL ALPHABET SOUP of environmental health and safety You will take away these key concepts and skills:

BOMI Institute has implemented a new testing procedure. The test for each course will be given at a designated testing center. This will require a $60.00 fee to be collected by the BOMA local and passed on to the Institute. BOMA Oakland/East Bay will not raise it’s base price for the courses but the course prices now include the new fee. Reservation and refund deadline is Thursday, March 15, 2012. Any reservations after Thursday March 15, 2012 will be charged a late registration fee of $100. Any cancellations received after this date will be charged a $100 cancellation fee. If payment is not received by the testing date, student will not be allowed to take the test UNTIL payment has been received into the BOMA office.
