We are extremely fortunate, and grateful, for the efforts brought forth by our various committees and special interest groups. These individuals are committed to meeting the needs of our members and help build a cohesive association. If you want to make a difference and are able to contribute your expertise, please volunteer to serve on one or more of the following committees. There is no better way to invest in your association than by active participation.

Awards Committee
Responsible for conducting The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards program annually.  Also responsible for providing special recognition for our membership.

Community Outreach Committee
Coordinates the association's charitable and community outreach work.

Codes & Standards
Educates members and coordinates with the entities within the East Bay regarding Codes and Standards passed by the ICC and teh State of California.

Education & Program Committee
Plans all educational offerings including local seminars and the BOMI courses. Plans and coordinates monthly luncheon program guest speakers and panels.

Emergency Preparedness
Educates Members and coordinates with the entities within the East Bay regarding readiness for natural and man made emergencies.

Emerging Professionals
Encourages those new to the profession to meet and discuss challenges and successes; provide opportunities for mentoring , leadership, education and networking.

Environment Committee
Reduces the environmental impact of BOMA Oakland/East Bay member buildings and businesses by connecting members to sustainability resources and by educating members about proactive sustainable strategies in the commercial real estate market.

Events Committee
Plans and sponsors social networking events such as the golf tournaments, annual trade show, Holiday Party other networking events for the membership.

Finance Committee
Responsible for the annual budget, monthly reporting, and bookkeeper.  Management of financial policies, 990 process and audits/reviews.

Government Affairs Committee
Monitors, interprets and affects legislative and regulatory issues on local, regional, state and federal levels.

Membership Committee
Actively seeks new members who will benefit from BOMA membership. Works with membership to serve and create benefits for members.

Medical Office Building Special Interest Group
Plans and conducts the ongoing membership recruitment for the Medical Office Building sector and to provide educational sessions/roundtables to serve the needs of this Special Interest Group.

Industrial Special Interest Group

The Industrial Special Interest Group provides infoirmation as well as plans and conducts events regarding the industrial sector for the benefit of BOMA OEB members. 

Asset Management
 Special Interest Group
A Special Interest Group for Asset Managers and Owners to collaborate, network, learn best practices and to become involved in BOMA Oakland / East Bay through quarterly SIG meetings and educational events.
