Tim Ballas serves as Managing Director of Asset Services
for the San Francisco Bay Area market in Northern California, a region that includes Oakland, San Francisco,
Walnut Creek, Pleasanton and San Jose/Silicon Valley. He holds overall responsibility for regional
operations, and he has represented key clients such as Prudential, TIAA-CREF, The Irvine Company, MetLife,
PM Realty Advisors, Kaiser Permanente, Invesco, and the Archon Group. He joined CB Richard Ellis in
mid-2003, with the company’s acquisition of Insignia/ESG.
Mr. Ballas has represented commercial property owners since 1984 in major California and Texas
markets, where his key strengths have been in property management, leasing, marketing and construction.
In addition, he is very experienced in product positioning and due diligence for buyers and sellers.
Before joining Insignia, Mr. Ballas served as Vice President for Transwestern Property Company
in San Francisco. While with Transwestern, he established and opened the Northern California regional
offices, including the management of owned real estate and third-party management business. Earlier,
he spent 10 years with Cushman & Wakefield as a Portfolio Manager and supervised large institutional properties.
Mr. Ballas serves on the Board of Directors for BOMA California, BOMA San Francisco and BOMA
Oakland/East Bay.
Mr Ballas holds the following degrees and accreditiations:
- Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from Sam Houston State University
- Certified Property Manager (CPM)
- Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM)
